Eryka “Ree” Joseph is a dynamic scholar and cultural communications expert with a strong foundation in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). With a Master’s Degree in African and African Diaspora Studies and experience in higher education and cultural advocacy, Ree brings a unique blend of academic rigor, creative communication, and strategic insight to her work.
Her professional journey includes roles such as Graduate Assistant at Florida International University, Contract Restorative Arts and Equity Coordinator at Metro Arts: Nashville Arts & Culture, and Communications Manager for architectural firm ALIP Design. Ree has also served as a managing director and director of communications, managing digital engagement and curating educational programming in the museum & cultural preservation industry.
With expertise in TEACHING, social media management, digital design, branding, and marketing, Ree amplifies underrepresented voices and shapes inclusive narratives. Her research on media representations of fat Black women and the impact of intersectionality on workplace experiences demonstrates her commitment to addressing systemic biases.
