Eryka “Ree” Joseph is a dynamic scholar and cultural communications ​expert with a strong foundation in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and ​Belonging (DEIB). With a Master’s Degree in African and African ​Diaspora Studies and experience in higher education and cultural ​advocacy, Ree brings a unique blend of academic rigor, creative ​communication, and strategic insight to her work.


Her professional journey includes roles such as Graduate Assistant ​at Florida International University, Contract Restorative Arts and ​Equity Coordinator at Metro Arts: Nashville Arts & Culture, and ​Communications Manager for architectural firm ALIP Design. Ree has ​also served as a managing director and director of communications, ​managing digital engagement and curating educational programming in ​the museum & cultural preservation industry.

With expertise in TEACHING, social media management, digital design, branding, and marketing, Ree amplifies underrepresented ​voices and shapes inclusive narratives. Her research on media representations of fat Black women and the impact of ​intersectionality on workplace experiences demonstrates her commitment to addressing systemic biases.


Confident, bold, and committed to social change, Ree makes waves through her scholarly research, professional leadership, and ​innovative media projects. Whether through her academic contributions or creative ventures, Ree’s work embodies a passion for ​equity, cultural awareness, and making a lasting impact.
